“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”

― Maya Angelou

Writing has always been a passion of mine. It intrigues me to think that the right combination of words can relay difficult emotions, tell an untold story, convey an important message, or memorialize significant moments.

For most of my life, I have only written for my eyes - short stories, poems, and love letters.

However, in the past few years, I've decided to share my passion for writing to give a voice to pain and illness sufferers. As a chronic illness educator and coach, I address topics that directly impact and matter most to our community -- like self-management tools, mental and emotional coping skills, pain management techniques, new opioid regulations, and caregiver burnout, to name a few.

With that said, I hold a Bachelor of Science in Education + Human Development, and so, I feel a deep sense of responsibility to ensure that I write with integrity and root all of my work in evidence-based writing practices so as not to spread misinformation.

In January of 2020, I was named a "regular contributor" to iPain Living Magazine - a quarterly magazine published by The International Pain Foundation. As of January 2021, I was named an iPain Living Magazine columnist.

iPain Living Magazine delivers relevant information on chronic pain challenges, tips, tools, and resources that puts pain into context in peoples' lives. Through medical content, insights from experts and real people, and spotlights on topical news, we answer: how it happened, what it feels like, what you can do about it, and why it matters.
