I chose "Light Emerges From Dark...in Kairos Time" as the tagline for the company to signify the very process of coaching. In order for any kind of coaching to be successful, the client must be ready to face their current situation eyes open, prepared to take accountability,  and willing to let go and change what is no longer serving them. During that process a metamorphosis - an evolution begins to take root - eventually shedding light on the very shadows that prevented you from growing.

2-sided open box

Coping, managing and navigating chronic pain and its concurrent diseases requires thinking "outside of the box." Having the logo open on 2-sides is my way of celebrating that notion.

labyrinth overlay

The classic Greek Cretan labyrinth is a seven-circuit path which stems from Greek mythology. The Huffington Post published an article by Alex Pattakos who explained the labyrinth beautifully:

"A labyrinth is not a maze or a puzzle to be solved but a path of meaning to be experienced. Its path is circular and convoluted, but it has no dead ends. A labyrinth has one entrance — one way in and one way out. When we walk the path, we go around short curves and long curves; sometimes we are out on the edge, sometimes we circle around the center. We are never really lost, but we can never quite see where we are going.

And to draw upon the wisdom of the ancient Greek philosopher Heraclitus, we need to be aware that what looks like an end point can also be a beginning point. Indeed, in so many ways, the labyrinth is like life."

kcpc initials

I wanted a way to incorporate the Kairos Chronic Pain Coaching initials. If you look closely you will see the letters K.C.P.C. embedded in the logo.

spartan symbol

Sparta was a warrior society in ancient Greece. Sparta, also known as Lacedaemon, was an ancient Greek city-state located primarily in southern Greece called Laconia. The Greek letter lambda (Λ), standing for Laconia or Lacedaemon, was painted on the Spartans' warrior shields,

The term "spartan" became synonymous with fearlessness, harsh and cruel life, endurance or simplicity by design. Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines "spartan" as "a person of great courage and self-discipline"

Chronic pain sufferers have the same fighting spirit and so, it was important that I honored that spirit in the logo

clock

The Greeks have 2 words for time, which in and of itself demonstrates the importance of it.

Chronos means watch time, clock time...what time is it?

Kairos on the other hand literally translates to, "a time for when conditions are right for the accomplishment of a crucial action." Simply said, Kairos measures the quality of time while Chronos simply measures the quanity.
